USPS plans to purchase Canoo electric vans

Canoo USPS electric delivery van

Canoo, an electric van manufacturer, signed a high-profile agreement with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to buy a small number of right-hand drive variants of the company's LDV 190 delivery van.

Canoo has announced that the USPS would buy six (6) battery-electric Canoo cars. In an official press statement, the business stated that it was "honored" to participate in the post office's examination of possible suppliers as the USPS proceeds toward the "groundbreaking electrification and modernization" of its national delivery fleet.

"The multi-purpose (LDV 190) platform with steer-by-wire technology and a unique low-profile suspension system allows for a readily configurable right-hand drive system while maintaining desired roll and ride stability," said Tony Aquila, Canoo's Investor, Executive Chairman, and CEO, citing some of the ways the USPS could benefit from Canoo's patented technologies to deliver enhanced functionality, safety, and ergonomics.

The agreement, which is a component of the USPS's $40 billion investment plan to modernize and enhance the company's processing, transportation, and delivery networks in the upcoming years, comes just after Kingbee announced that a small number of Canoo electric vans from the early production have joined its rental fleet.
